Tiberio: The Tiberio was a schooner of 237 tons built in 1902 and was utilized by the Italian Navy during WWII. On the evening of 31 December 1940 the Italian ships Maria Giovanna and Tiberio departed from Porto Bardia on coastal patrol sailing towards Tobruk. The ships were attacked and captured by the HM Destroyer Dainty and 3 other ships off Bardia after a brief gunfight. Both vessels were taken to Alexandria and commissioned as auxiliary ships (store carriers) in the British Royal Navy, but retaining their original names.                                                             No Photo Available On 23 December 1941 the HMS Tiberio foundered and capsized in heavy weather off of Mersa Matruh.
