Dandolo:

The Dandolo was a steam cargo ship of 5048 tons built by Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson at Wellsend Yard No. 1143. Launched 09 February 1921 and completed in June of that same year with a length of 413.7 feet, 53.2 feet in beam, and 26.3 feet in draught, and 540 nhp. Transferred to Soc. Veneziana di Nav in 1937.

Uboat.net indicates that the Dandolo was sunk by the HMS Upholder(LCDR M.D. Wanklyn, RN) by torpedoes and was damaged 2.5 nm northwest of Barone, eastern Sicily at 38.08N/12.37E and was able to make it to port and was subsequently repaired.

In a night raid at Alexandria on 10 or 20 August 1942 the submarine was sunk by British aircraft approximately 60 miles from Ras EL Tin Naval Base bearing 021-degrees.
