Bencruachan:

The Bencruachan was a passenger/cargo ship built at Charles Connell & Co., Scotstoun (Yard No. 413) for The Ben Line Steamers Ltd., Leith. She was launched 28 August 1928 and completed the following month. The ship was 5,920 Grt, 429 feet in length, and 54 feet in beam. Single screw with a cruising speed of 12.5 knots.
On 05 July 1941, while under the command of Captain Riddle, the Bencruachan was manuevering into the Alexandria Harbor when she hit an acoustic mine in the Great Pass half a mile short of the boom defence. Three lives lost, and Captain Riddle along with twenty crew members were injured. The ship settle by her bow in shallow water 9.8 cables from the Mex High Light, bearing 297 degrees. The ship's cargo shifted and broke the ship's back. The wreck was finally demolished and removed in 1950.
