HMS Bandolero: The HMS Bandolero was originally built as a 913 GRT fishing trawler at Smiths Dock Co., Ltd., South Bank-on-Tees, U.K., and was launched on 21 January 1935. At the time of launching, the boat was registered as belonging to the Hellyer Brothers Ltd., Hull.
Requisitioned for wartime use by the Ministry of War Transport (MoWT) in August 1939, she was commissioned as an ASW Trawler and designated FY 778. No Photo Available
On 30 December 1940, under the command of LCDR F. M. W. Harris, RNR, while operating in the eastern Mediterranean off the coast of Sollum, Egypt, the ship was lost after a collision with the HMAS Waterhen. No casualties were reported.
